Difference

The

At Bellaire, we believe in caring for the whole person: mentally (mind), physically (body), emotionally (heart), and spiritually (soul), by providing exceptional care in an uplifting, positive, soothing, and nurturing environment. We are a warm, comforting home that is full of fun, laughter, and compassion that promotes wellness and wholeness, encouraging residents to relish living while preserving and maintaining their dignity on all levels, every step of the way.

We understand this is just as hard for the family as it is for the aging parent or loved one. In most cases, it's the family that struggles the most with this decision, creating more stress on all parties involved. Making this transition as seamless as possible for everyone is our hope and goal.

The Bellaire difference means providing all of the amenities of home, while allowing your loved one the opportunity to both thrive in this new season, as well as rest, celebrating their life thus far. We also view care with a holistic approach. It's not just the body that needs care; it's the mind, body, heart, and spirit. We support their journey at every turn until completion with the most loving, attentive, and compassionate end of life care available. We consider it an honor and a privilege to care for your loved one at the most delicate and frail time of their life.

Mind

The mind is quite powerful and each individual's mental capacity is unique to them. We offer opportunities to both stimulate and soothe the mind, as well as encourage positive thinking, confident self-talk, thought-provoking topics, engaging conversations, guest speakers, puzzles, brain teasers, word finds, and board games. We also encourage exercise, holistic treatments, supplements, quality sleep, and other techniques.

Body

Our physical bodies are incredible and should be respected and admired. Caring for our bodies is an act of gratitude, to be thankful for all that it does: breathing, hearing, seeing, digesting, eliminating, pumping blood to our veins and heart, walking, talking, and more. It is an amazing machine! It must be fed well, hydrated, loved, and nourished with good food, exercise, dance, therapeutic touch, and laughter.

Heart

Make peace with everyone, heal and forgive past hurts, make amends, embrace gratitude, and fill your heart with love and joy, laugher, and singing. If our past hurts are not properly dealt with, it will haunt us, especially when our ability to remember and communicate diminishes and we are no longer able to fully express our thoughts and feelings. We then become sick and trapped with those unresolved issues, which can manifest into undesirable illness and behaviors. In addition, depression is a precursor to dementia, both of which are highly prevalent in our society now. Bellaire provides opportunities to practice gratitude, love, forgiveness, self-worth, and gentle reminders to heal the heart and dissolve regrets.

Soul

Our philosophy is that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience. We have a positive approach to spirituality and we believe there are many paths leading to the same goal. Each individual's journey is different from another's and all are to be respected. We embrace the unique path of each resident and support them in their individual beliefs, as well as encourage and facilitate opportunities for them to practice and celebrate the faith and/or beliefs that resonate for them. We also offer rotating in-home Sunday services and weekly inspirational talks from different faiths for all to participate in and benefit from. We provide many ways to nourish the soul with daily affirmations, meditation, quiet gentle reflection, reading, vibrational sound, in-home massage therapy, as well as a relaxing spa bath and shampoo with dim lights, aromatherapy, and essential oils. Our residents enjoy opportunities to engage in walks, music, art, gardening, pets, plants, and visits with children's groups in the community.
